  • A Typical Day at Orchard Therapeutic Care

    A Typical Day

Every day at Orchard Therapeutic Care is shaped around you – your goals, your routines, and the support you need. We’ll guide you with structure, but there’s always room for choice, relaxation and fun.

    Mornings

We’ll help you get ready for what matters most:

    • College, training, or work

    • Appointments or activities

    • Healthy breakfast and starting your day feeling organised

Staff are there if you need a hand with routines like getting up on time, meal prep, or planning your day.

    Afternoons

This time is more flexible. It could include:

    • Catching up with your Support Worker for a one-to-one

    • Taking part in activities – from cooking to creative projects

    • Relaxing at home or spending time in the garden

    • Building independence skills like budgeting, shopping, or using public transport

    Evenings

Evenings are about winding down and connecting with others. You might:

    • Cook or share dinner with housemates

    • Join in with a film night, games, or a group activity

    • Have some quiet time in your room or space to talk through your day

    • Explore hobbies or creative interests with staff encouragement

    Weekends

Weekends give you more freedom and choice. Together we plan things like:

    • Outings and day trips

    • Cooking together or trying new recipes

    • Movie nights or games nights

    • Relaxing, recharging and catching up with friends or family

    Why It Matters

Our aim is to give you a balance:

    • Structure – so you feel safe, supported and organised

    • Flexibility – so you have choice and independence

    • Fun – because enjoying your time here matters just as much as learning new skills

No two days are the same, but every day is about helping you move closer to independence at a pace that works for you.

    Therapeutic and Engaging Activities

We understand that part of the healing process involves fostering fun and enjoyable experiences. Our teams ensure that young people not only receive high-quality care but also engage in activities that promote well-being, personal development and social integration. Activities in the home include arts and crafts, cooking, football matches and yoga, giving young people the opportunity to express themselves and develop new skills. We also organise outdoor trips to local parks, zoos, museums, as well as holidays around the UK and, where appropriate, abroad. These experiences allow young people to build lasting memories, enhance their social skills and, most importantly, develop their independence.
