Who we support
At Orchard Therapeutic Care, we provide supported accommodation for looked-after children and care leavers aged 16 to 18 who require increasing levels of independence. Our focus is on young people who are ready to gain further skills to prepare for adult living and who do not need the degree of care or type of environment provided in a children's home or foster care. High-quality supported accommodation that provides a nurturing and protective environment can be a place where they can thrive and prepare for greater independence.
We are able to support young people who demonstrate a growing sense of independence and readiness to acquire additional skills for a successful transition into adulthood. Our service is specifically designed to cater to young individuals who no longer require the level of care or specific environment provided in a children's home or foster care setting.
Within this remit, we support placements of young people with varying needs, including:
For young people aged 16 and over, we also consider placements of individuals with the following needs:
We ensure that each placement is carefully assessed to ensure compatibility with existing group dynamics and that the needs of new residents are not incompatible with those of current residents. This assessment includes a thorough risk evaluation before offering a place.
Our aim is to provide a safe, supportive, and enriching environment where young people can develop the skills and confidence needed to achieve greater independence and successfully transition into adulthood.
